Underwriters Laboratory to offer charger installation training program

Just in time for the debut of two very-hyped plug-in vehicles from Nissan and Chevrolet, the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) will launch a training program aimed at informing installers, electricians, manufacturers and automakers about the complexities involved with the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment. The program, offered through the UL University, will provide:
A platform for various stakeholders who are involved in the design, construction, installation and inspection of electric vehicle charging equipment. A training module, as well as a hands-on testing component, will allow participants to demonstrate their understanding of relevant National Electric Code (NEC) articles, various installation requirements, UL electric vehicle safety standards and emerging electric vehicle infrastructure technology. In addition to the training program, the UL will also host a webinar focusing on EV safety standards. The UL is shooting for a fall launch for its webinar, but specific dates have not been announced. Follow the jump for more info.
